Where We Stayed: Hotel Les Théâtres
Highlights: The twinkling Eiffel Tower at the top of the hour, caramels and macaroons from Pierre Hermé, seeing Monet's Water Lilies at the Musee l'Orangerie, hot chocolate at Angelina's, placing a new love lock on the Pont des Arts, shopping the Bastille farmer's market, eating crepes and cider at Little Breizh, and walking around the glowing Louvre at night.
Being in Paris is as incredible as imagined. Being there with your fiancé, absolutely romantic! And when he happens to be a brilliant photographer, well, things just get magical. Who needs souvenirs when you get to take with you beautiful photos of what you saw and did?
The city is famous for its blossoming spring, but winter in Paris is breathtaking. It feels quiet and still, like walking through a photograph. While the cold may have been biting, every stop was delightfully uncrowded, giving us front row tickets to all the famous attractions we've heard about our whole lives.
