Fashion and Beauty Brands are Going Nude

Fashion and Beauty Brands are Going Nude(Source: Thinkstock, Nails Inc., Cosabella; Art by Tanya Leigh Washington)Perhaps in a backlash to all of the bold lip colors, bright underthings and neon nail colors that have been splashed before our eyes this summer, a handful of fashion and beauty brands are taking a back-to-basics approach for their latest collections by going nude. And it's not a one-size-fits-most shade we're talking about: these companies are creating full neutral collections, offering a wide range of hues to suit nearly every skin tone.

From your lips and tips to undergarments, check out the many ways you can flaunt and enhance your natural coloring.

Nails Inc. The Perfect Nude Collection

Nude nails never go out of style, and British lacquer brand Nails Inc. is perfecting the classic look with this assortment of four polishes ($11 each). The collection includes Charlotte Street, a pale pink; the creamy beige Eaton Terrace; Draycott Avenue, a dark camel color; and Montpelier Walk, a warm toffee. Each shade is designed to act like a BB cream for your digits, creating a flawless appearance with its neutral-toned, ridge-filling formula.

Illamasqua Glamore Nude Lipsticks

British cosmetics brand Illamasqua is known for shocking color, but it recently diverged from its usual popping pigments to introduce this assortment of seven toned-down lipsticks ($26 each). The satin-finish formulas are grouped to flatter not only complexion colors but undertones—to wit, those with cool tones should reach for a rosy hue such as Rosepout or Starkers, while warm tones will find balance in earthy browns Tease, Naked and Buff. If you're looking for a neutral that's not entirely natural, nude corals Minx and Cherub offer a happy medium of subdued color.

Cosabella Never Say Never Nudes Collection

Nude Collections(Source: Cosabella)As an answer to what to wear beneath summer's white jeans and dresses, lingerie label Cosabella released seven new skin-tone shades in its popular scalloped-edge floral lace Never Say Never collection. Ranging from bone to black, the new hues are available in Cutie low-ride thongs ($22), Bootie high-rise thongs ($22), Hottie low-ride hotpants ($37), Sweetie wireless soft bras ($55) and Beautie underwire push-up bras ($74).

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lipsticks

Nude Collections(Source: Maybelline)Offering the most extensive range of the bunch, cosmetics giant Maybelline just rolled out The Buffs, a collection of ten rich, creamy lipsticks ($7 each) in an impressive array of flesh tones. While finding your perfect color match might normally be cause for concern, it's pretty hard to pick wrong here—even if you overshoot on the dark side, it will still be flattering (albeit not totally neutral).
