Last night's Teen Choice Awards not only brought out some of young Hollywood's brightest, but it showcased their serious style chops, too. From itty-bitty crop tops to bold statement eyes, we've rounded up five of the hottest trends we spotted on last night's blue carpet!

1) Bold Patterns

The TCAs are all about having fun — come on, winners get surf boards! But the excitment doesn't stop there. Bold, crazy, and outlandish patterns were the top trend of last night's awards. From Hailee Steifeld's red and navy House of Holland starburst frock to Nina Dobrev's J. Mendel paint-splatter top and pants, the stars were all about having fun with their looks. Bella Thorne and Lily Collins both opted for tropical-print Fausto Puglisi ensembles, while stars like Jordin Sparks, Crystal Reed, Maddie Hasson, and Jenna Ushkowitz opted for geometric prints. Finally, Janel Parrish got flirty and sported playful butterflies!

2. Crop Tops

Another hot trend we spotted last night was the ever-popular crop top. Show co-host Lucy Hale nailed this trend with a pretty mint green silk top and matching floral embroidered skirt by Houghton. Hale's Pretty Little Liars co-star Ashley Benson also hopped on the midriff-bearing trend with a Bec & Bridge black crop top paired with an Armani embellished skirt. Chelsea Kane also opted for a crop top and skirt combo when she donned a boldly patterned Laura Basci top and skirt. Renee Bargh also hit the carpet showing her tummy when she wore a white and black lace tank top and shorts ensemble. Finally, Naya Rivera schooled us all on how to wear the trend when she sported an Alice + Olivia black leather bustier top with matching skinny pants.

3. Long Sleeves

Although crop tops made their way around the TCA carpet, so did a trend with just a little more fabric: long sleeves. A number of celebs opted for a more conservative route with long sleeve dresses and blazers. Kerry Washington went with a charming long-sleeve embellished frock by Stella McCartney. Fashion-risktaker Miley Cyrus even toned it down with a sheer long-sleeve button-down blouse, which she paired with a leather buckle skirt, both by Saint LaurentBrittany Snow, Anna Camp, and Troian Bellisario all went the long-sleeve lacy green route with dresses by Oliver Tolentino, Emilio Pucci, and Elisabetta Franchi, respectively. And finally, Abigail Breslin, Demi Lovato, and Alli Simpson covered up with cool embellished jackets.

4. Braids

On the beauty front, all was fair at the TCAs! This year we saw everything from Miley Cyrus' signature chop to Ashley Benson's stellar side sweep. But a major hair trend several celebs favorited was, of course, the braid. Bella Thorne, Laura Marano, and Jenni "JWoww" Farley sported tiny side braids with flowing curls, while Maia Mitchell, Brittany Snow, and Renee Bargh all opted for gorgeous braided updos. Erin Andrews also sported the look but took it old school with a classic single braid.

5. Statement Eyes

The final trend we spotted last night was one of our favorites of the night: the statement eye. Whether it was a bold cat eye or an icy eyeshadow, the stars were all about drawing attention to their peepers. Hailee Steinfeld and Demi Lovato brought on the drama with heavy smoky eyes, whereas Anna Camp cooled it down with icy blue. Selena Gomez and Lily Collins went retro-chic with winged tip cat eyes!
