It all started with Valentino. At the designer's Fall 2014 runway show in Paris, fairytale motifs were abundant. Naturally this included gorgeous florals, but there was another unexpected pattern that caught our eye: butterflies. From metallic fabric to applique embellishments, we fell head over heels for the dreamlike designs.

Olivia Palermo is a fan of it too, picking a bomber jacket printed all over with the colorful flying insects. Paired with green silk shorts and a lace top, the casual silhouette of the jacket was effortlessly transformed from sporty to chic.
