Yass hennys — the Fab 5 is back!
The teaser video for Season 3 of Queer Eye was released today, and so was the official premiere date — Friday, March 15. That means in just about a month you will be curled up on your couch with a glass of wine, laughing and crying your way into the weekend. Can you say TGIF?
Though the video doesn't reveal too much about the upcoming season, it does feature Carly Rae Jepson's brand new song, "Now That I Found You." The season is picking up with their usual theme of loving yourself, which couldn't be more appropriate considering tomorrow is Valentine's Day. It's all about self love, hennys! And no one is a better example of that than this loving and supportive crew.
Since first premiering on Netflix in February 2018, Antoni, Karamo, Jonathan, Tan, and Bobby have stolen our hearts and become global sensations. Season 2 came out in June 2018, quickly followed by the special "Yass, Australia!," where the boys traveled down under to the town of Yass, New South Wales. While 2018 filled all our Fab 5 needs, we never expected Season 3 would return this quickly. As Jonathan would say, "Can you believe?"
While the previous two seasons took place in Georgia, the third season will be in Kansas City, Missouri — a tidbit we learned back in July 2018.
In addition to Missouri, the boys will also be releasing a mini-season called Queer Eye: We’re In Japan!, which will consist of four episodes shot in the East Asian country. While there, the group will "work with local tastemakers to make-better a new group of heroes, while they learn and experience Japanese cuisine, fashion, design, grooming, and culture." Can we start taking bets on whether or not they meet Marie Kondo?
Something else we know about Season 3 is that it'll have more diversity. Antoni told E! News, "Inclusivity and diversity continues to be the focus of our MO, of what we're out there to do. I think people are going to see a lot of differences in Kansas City, but they're going to see maybe more and understand a little more clearly that we are all the same, our struggles are the same, to show up for our families, to be better lovers, friends, parents children, like these are all human experiences. It doesn't matter which coast or which country you're in, it's all something you can relate to." He continues, "I get goosebumps thinking about it. They're taking it to the next level, and I can't wait for the world to see it."
