(Photo by Lindsay Schallon/StyleBistro)Accessories are kind of a big deal at Coachella
From tie-dyed headbands to acid wash jackets — and TONS of accessories — take a peek at what I stashed in my Coachella survival pack this weekend.
The Clothes: Flowy pieces (it's hot in the desert, ya'll), mix-and-match basics, oversized tees, and a few statement jackets for when the temperature drops at night.
I'm saving this Free People daisy dress for the last day. It's my personal favorite of the bunch.
The Jewelry: Piles on piles of bracelets (arm parties, if you will) plus a few special pieces no one else will have — like the "bestie" bracelet my, obv, bestie sent me after I moved to NYC and the claddagh ring from my boyfriend. The best thing about festival fashion? It's all about embracing your personal style — anything (and we mean anything) goes.
The Accessories: A backpack (this is 117 percent essential, you guys), easy-to-walk-in footwear, sunnies, and a hat. Also, can you tell I have a thing for woven belts? I've been collecting them since high school — that chunky one, it's from (brace yourself) Hollister.
(From L-R, clockwise): My Nike wedges, Free People backpack, Urban Outfitters hat, Free People sandals, Gucci sunnies, Urban Outfitters belt, Hollister belt, H&M belt, Natural Life Tie-Dye Bracelet/Hairbands, Natural Life Rhinestone Headband, Free People tie-dye hair wrap.
The Products: Being a beauty junkie, I don't exactly travel light when it comes to products. But that said, it's pain to tote a ka-jillion things around the festival all day, so here are the absolute must-haves I stashed in my bejeweled knapsack.
The list includes:
Have you heard of these kits? They fit in the palm of your hand and include, basically, everything you could possibly need in case of a fashion emergency: hairspray, clear nail polish, nail polish remover, emery board, lip balm, earring backs, clear elastics, mending kit, safety pin, fashion tape, stain remover, deodorant towelette, pain reliever, tampon, breath freshener, dental floss, and an adhesive bandage. Phew!
Also, a lifesaver? My funky Sonia Kashuk makeup bag — not only is it totally adorable, it has detachable Velcro pockets inside, which are perfect for pulling straight out of the case and throwing in my bag. I used it to keep electronics, like my battery pack and camera, protected from God knows what might spill on me.
Last but not least, shower and face stuff — for, you know, when (read: if) you have time to shower.
Tell me, what does your suitcase look like when you travel? Any products you're obsessed with? Sound off in the comments, below!
