Sequential Brands Group is taking a large stake in Jessica Simpson’s brand —owned by the Camuto group—with plans to go international and develop an e-commerce platform (finally!). The decade-old shoe, clothing and accessories brand already sees more than $1 billion in sales annually, so expansion to other markets could double or triple this value. [WSJ]

Models who go to extremes to be extra thin will have to sit out Paris Fashion Week due to a new measure passed today in France. Agencies and organizations that don’t follow the mandate can expect to receive a fine close to $80,000. [WWD]

“The activity of a model is banned for any person whose Body Mass Index (BMI) is lower than levels proposed by health authorities and decreed by the ministers of health and labor,” the bill says.
