When it comes to dressing for maximum impact with minimum effort, it doesn't get better than a knockout dress. You slip one on and you're ready to go. However, the one-piece wonder doesn't invite too much variety. Accessories are truly the key to switching up a frock's overall effect and we've taken note of some stars turning to an unexpected piece.

When you think of worn leather belts, ripped jeans come to mind before a gown. On the red carpet, however, we've seen celebrities cinching their waists in rugged leather belts over formal ensembles. The unusual high-low mix both creates a flattering silhouette and a casual, boho touch. 

Candice Swanepoel gave a long slip dress more shape by wrapping a leather belt around it.
