Simple Styling Trick to Try: The Perfect Top for a Whimsical Skirt

We've gotten so used to seeing our favorite boldface names pull out all the stops and rock glitzy gowns on the red carpet that it's quite refreshing when we see starlets take a much more laidback approach to dressing for a special event. (By laidback, we mean wearing separates, of course.) 

Take Shake It Up actress Zendaya Coleman for example. She stepped out to the Black Nativity premiere earlier this week wearing a stunning sheer snow white Chloe tulle skirt. And across the pond, Doctor Who actress Jenna-Louise Coleman (totally unrelated, BTW) turned up to the Isabella Blow exhibit wearing a lovely pastel kaleidoscopic vintage skirt.

And you know how they both chose to tie their looks together? A plain black turtleneck. It balances an eye-catching skirt on top, allowing you to wear it with colored pumps. Besides, some garments are so gorgeous, they deserve to stand out on their own.
