Sadly but surely, we knew this day would come. With the final designer shows hitting the catwalks yesterday, Paris Fashion Week has come to a close. While we've enjoyed the killer street style looks, the backstage beauty and naturally, the runway shows themselves, there's one more thing we have to do before we can officially bid au revoir to fashion month: Share the four clever styling tricks we picked up in the city of lights.
Turn up Your Collar
Turn down for what? This easy tip just requires the flip of a hand. Whether it's a button-up for the office, an off-duty polo or your best winter coat, any collar will do to utilize this designer-approved look. Flipping up your neckline creates an undone, but sophisticated stamp on any ensemble.
Sling Outerwear Over Your Shoulders
While this is a trick we've seen before, we're witnessing some new plays on the casual-cool outerwear look. Alexis Mabille chose to do a one-shoulder sling instead of the classic overcoat throw. Plus some new silhouettes are getting into the game—a blazer at Vanessa Seward and a beaded jacket at Balmain—just in time for us to try this trend as we're putting away our heavy winter coats.
Oh, and did we mention supermodels Derek Zoolander and Hansel (AKA Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson) are also fans of this trend? They both rocked it during the Valentino show. You've got the blue steel stamp-of-approval to try this one at home.
Layer High Necklines
Looking to try something unique? Layer up your high necklines. This was a crazy popular pairing amongst the Fall 2015 collections and it's simple to re-create in your own wardrobe: pop on a turtleneck, followed by a top-buttoned oxford and voilà! Finish off with a collared coat if you're feeling extra daring or need another layer to keep warm. This look can also be completed with a statement necklace for an ultra eye-catching décolletage.
Add a Pop of Color with Your Socks
Showing a little sock is something no woman should be afraid of. Take the look one step further by picking a colorful pair to spice up your outfit. Whether your getup is basic black-and-white, you want to match your outfit's color scheme, or you simply just like to be vibrant all-around, this is a stylish way to stand out in a crowd.
So tell us, which of these styling tricks would you try?
