British television journalist Louise Roe
will be the first to tell you that the most exciting style stars are those who aren't afraid to take some risks.
"You should always experiment," Louise told us. "The only mistake you'll make is not daring to try something new. Don't worry if you screw up and it doesn't look right. It's only an outfit, you can take it off."
Roe also warns against the dangers of impulse purchases: "Always use the changing rooms in a store, try everything on ... If you don't try it on you'll just end up with so many mistaken purchases that you'll never wear or use. Be really sure about something."
One way to ensure that you really need something, Roe suggests, is to brainstorm just how you plan to fit it into the wardrobe you already have. "Imagine every purchase with 3 different outfits. If you're buying a top, think, 'That'll go with my pencil skirt, it would go with my gray jeans and it would go with those red heels.'"
While Louise encourages trendsetters to experiment, she's vocal about practicality, too. "There's no point in buying a bright fuchsia dress if you've got nothing that you would wear with it. You have to imagine what bag and jewelry it'll work with or else it's a waste of money."To get more of Louise Roe's fashion, shopping and beauty tips, click the image:
