Iman knows a thing or two about beauty. She's been modeling since she was 18, has a wealth of product knowledge and her own line of skincare and cosmetics. We were thrilled when she graciously offered to share some of her experiences and answer some of our burning beauty questions.
Iman began with her first modeling job where she was asked if she had her own foundation. "I had no idea what the makeup artist was talking about," she said. The foundation he applied made her skin look

gray and this experience inspired her to create products more women could use. "
Iman Cosmetics," she told us, "is created by a woman of color for women of color, regardless of their ethnicities."

Iman also imparted some valuable advice when it comes to skincare. She said, "SPF is the single most important product anyone can use...and trust me, the skin you take care of in your 20s is the one you inherit in your 50s, 60s and above." She explained how the other things we do to look are just "visual wow" and don't have quite the impact of healthy looking skin.

Speaking of visual wow, we were curious about other tips she might have for looking flawless. Iman was kind enough to point out that bronzer is key to creating vibrancy and dimension. "It's something that makes the skin come alive," she told us. "It becomes dewy...it looks like you just came from Ibiza." Lucky for us, we don't need to head for the Mediterranean--Iman Cosmetics are easy to find at major retailers like Walgreens, Sears, Target and
Drugstore.com.
