Hot or Not: Frances McDormand's Low-Key Tony Awards Look

Frances McDormand (Getty) On Sunday, veteran actress Frances McDormand took home her first Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play.

Unlike most of the other attendees, she opted for a very dressed-down look, accepting her award in a red-and-black striped maxi dress and a cropped denim jacket. She didn't appear to be wearing any makeup, and her hair looked very wash and wear.

Now, McDormand is clearly not interested in being part of the red carpet rigamarole: Backstage, she posed for pictures with her award as if she were about to be led into a jail cell. So we're confident that she doesn't care if you think this is a brilliant act of rebellion or not. But we think it's kind of hot that she's doing things her way, without regard for the criticism she'll likely face in the back pages of Us Weekly.
