Shoshanna Shapiro—oops, we mean Zosia Mamet
—may have debuted her new choppy crop this past Sunday at the 2014 Golden Globes
, but we didn't notice her faint, gradient dip-dye until yesterday, when she popped up in London at the Season 3 premiere of her hit HBO show, Girls.
This is interesting, since we usually spy ombre
on hair that's much
longer; from strands that hit just above the bust
to those that tumble all the way down to the waist
. However, Zosia's softly tousled, brunette chin-length bob fades into a cool caramel-color just at the tips—and it actually works. Blink and you'll miss it, but adding a subtle color fade was a simple tweak that gave her locks a slightly edgy touch that's rarely seen on shorter strands.
The lesson to be learned here? Don't bother waiting several months for your tresses to grow out to try the super trendy 'I'm-rocking-six-months-of-newgrowth' look. DIY it right
now. In fact, there's a L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombre Hair Color Kit ($8.99) over at Target.com
with your name on it...
