See that? We're not talking about the messy braids per se (though that was a fun surprise); we're focused on the tress-toned bobby pins she used to secure them.
ICYDK, bobby pins are the most versatile—and affordable—hair accessory there is. You probably have a hundred of them lying around your bathroom right now, so pull a few out and start working them into your looks. But before you do, here, a few tips to make sure you're using them correctly:
1) Bobby pins should be slipped into your strands with the ridges down, especially if your hair texture is fine; their entire purpose is to add grip. When they're placed up, the ridges are pointless.
2) When you wear two pins in the same section, place them in a 'X' shape. Hair can't possibly slip out when one pin is backed up with another.
3) When they're in, mist your mane with hairspray to set the style, concentrating on where the pins are placed. A little extra insurance can't hurt.
