Guess what Kanye West
and Karl Lagerfeld
did together on Wednesday in New York City? You'll never guess—probably because it's one of the most mundane things ever.
They ate lunch. Together. At the Mercer Hotel.
Yes. Earth-shattering, no?
According to a report in Page Six
, Lagerfeld and West met up at the Mercer for a mid-day meal (looks like V magazine Editorial Director Stephen Gan
was there too—you can see him in the background of the KL photo, above right) to talk "business."
"The were deep in conversation," said the source, "then later appeared to be getting devices out to discuss design ideas."
The two previously had a run-in at the Mercer—but it was way less friendly. According to Page Six
, "West had infuriated Lagerfeld, a regular guest at the hotel, as he and Jay-Z recorded their album 'Watch the Throne' there, causing the Kaiser to complain about the noise and commotion caused by their entourages."
In case you're ever in New York at the same time as Lagerfeld, you'll often spot him out and about, hanging around the Mercer. Once, I was walking home in late evening and saw Karl Lagerfeld just sitting on a bench on the side of the street by the Mercer. Imagine that—Karl Lagerfeld sitting on a street bench!
