J.W. Anderson tapped for Versus' collaboration (ImaxTree)
British designer J.W. Anderson
will be the first designer to collaborate with Versus following Christopher Kane
's abrupt departure from Versace
's sister line.
Last week, the Italian fashion house announced that instead of replacing Kane, Versus will be teaming up with young, budding designers to create a series of capsule collections and limited-edition merch, reports
It’s been a busy few months for Anderson, who launched his eponymous label back in 2008. The young designer won the Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear at the British Fashion Awards
on Tuesday and also released a capsule collection for Topshop this summer.
"I keep a close eye on young talent, and have been impressed by Jonathan's work over the last couple of years," said Donatella Versace
in a statement. "Versus is all about fun, change, and digital. I can't wait to present this collaboration!"
The J.W. Anderson for Versus
collection, which include both women's and men's RTW and accessories, will be unveiled around March or April 2013. It'll be sold at top department stores worldwide and online at Versus.it
As we sit and speculate what the collab will look like, who will be tapped for Versus next, and what in the world is going on with Christopher Kane
and all those Balenciaga
rumors, check out the looks from Anderson's Spring 2013 collection here:
