(Getty Images) On this, the 15-year anniversary of
Sex and the City's HBO debut,
Sarah Jessica Parker has a very important announcement to make — she's launching a shoe line!
An
expensive (ish) shoe line. Heels will be in the $200 to $300 range (not exactly Manolo money, but still spendy for a celeb collection) and are set to launch exclusively at Nordstrom early next year,
Vogue reports.
Of course, the price point shouldn't be
too surprising. Back in March, SJP
told Net-a-Porter that her feet
phsycially reject cheap shoes. "I got [lower priced] shoes and the bottoms weren’t leather, they were plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle...My feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, 'You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop — and don't put cheap shoes on us?'"
This isn't Parker's first foray into design — remember her stint as Halston's chief creative officer? And Bitten, her Steve & Barry's line? But this time, the actress is building her own collection from scratch rather than hitching herself to an already established brand. And she seems like such a perfectionist that we predict the results will be cute. Plus, she spent
five years playing a woman whose shoe obsession drove her into debt, so she must know a thing or two about footwear.
“Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount," Parker said in today's
Vogue interview. "It’s hard to — no pun intended — 'walk away from that.'”
Ooh. We see what you did there.
