Every year, Papa Karl
scours the earth for a spectacular show venue outside of Paris. From New York City's Grand Central Station to Shanghai's Huangpu Park, Chanel
has staged shows in some of the most beautiful buildings and places on earth—and next month, Karl Lagerfeld is uprooting his team and taking them to... Scotland!
That's right. Chanel will be showing its Metiers d'Art collection at Linlithgow Palace in West Lothian, Scotland, on December 3rd. The event will showcase designs made of Scottish tweed and cashmere—makes sense, since Chanel recently acquired its own mill in Hawick, Scotland.
"This year, Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Edinburgh as the location for the collection, inspired by the rich heritage of Chanel in Scotland, and the skilled craftsmanship of Scottish tweed and cashmere, that are an integral and iconic part of Chanel's collections today," explained a news release.
Chanel has been working with Scottish knitwear mills for 25 years.
