I love following Fashion Week street style. It's usually a delightful mixture of beautiful and zany. There is never any shortage of creativity or confidence, which is really what fashion is all about.
This season, however, I have to protest what is happening to our beloved timeless staple: blue jeans. Sure, we've stumbled in the past, but I thought we finally worked out the perfectly flattering silhouettes our denim should be in. Skinny, boot or flared—yes, yes and yes. Unfortunately, fashion's finest are braving some bold new looks reminiscent of my sartorial choices in 7th and 8th grade. In other words, high-water and highly unflattering. Make them a light Zack Morris wash with frayed hems and you've got me sincerely worried about the direction of fashion for the next few years.
If anyone can pull them off, it's these beautiful ladies. But, can we just not?
So it's a THING now. What do you think—do you love them, do you loathe them, do you want every pair in your size? If it's the latter, you're in luck, because all the biggest denim brands are stocking similar cuts.
