Amazon.com Founder Jeff Bezos Nominated for 'WWD' Newsmaker of the Year

As 2012 comes to a close, media outlets all over the world are ramping up their inevitable end-of-year story line-ups, showcasing the best and the brightest of the past year. This morning, fashion trade paper WWD released nominations for its annual "Newsmaker of the Year" award—a list of designers, industry insiders, retailers, and more.

On the list? Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos(we're total fans here at StyleBistro). His nomination reads:
Bezos founded Amazon.com in 1994 in his Seattle-based garage and 17 years later it reigns as the e-commerce leader for market share and innovation. Last month, the e-tail giant revealed it has leased a 40,000-square-foot space in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood that will serve as a photography studio catering to Amazon Fashion, which also owns MyHabit and Shopbop, and is the fastest-growing business at the company.
Ever since we first saw Bezos on Oprah years (decades!) ago, we've been major fans—it doesn't hurt that Amazon.com sells everything under the sun (Free Super Saver Shipping! We're sold.).
