It's unclear why Sharon Stone made her return to the Academy Awards red carpet this year, but what a return it was. The veteran actress pulled out all the stops for her awards show look, slipping into a vampish one-shoulder Christian Dior dress that was very Black Swan meets Cruella DeVille.

Which isn't to say Sharon didn't look great: With her sky-high bouffant, deep red lips and fierce eye makeup, she was indeed icily striking. What's more, it seems to work in Stone's favor, playing this eccentric Hollywood character. Bring on the vamp, Ms. Stone!
