Brad Pitt to be the face of the upcoming advertising campaign for CHANEL N°5," the French house
tweeted Wednesday.
Pitt is succeeding gamine
Audrey Tautou as the latest in a line of stylish celeb spokesmodels for the classic scent. Interestingly, the grande dame of fragrances has never had male representation. A series of very glamorous ladies like Nicole Kidman, Catherine Deneuve, Marilyn Monroe and even Coco Chanel herself have always been featured in ad campaigns.
While he may be entering uncharted territory as the first male face of Chanel No. 5, celebrity endorsements are nothing new to Pitt. He's appeared in commercials for Heineken, the Acura Integra, SoftBank and Edwin Jeans along with other ads only released in Asia. And as far as his new partnership goes,
E! reports he'll be in London shooting his first fragrance ad sometime this week.
