(Flynet) Taylor Swift for Covergirl (Procter & Gamble)
, often pictured with long, fabulously feathery lashes, isn't fooling anyone. A recent ad for CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara
featuring the lovely songstress has been banned by the US National Advertising Division (NAD). The reason? Extreme Photoshopping.
Apparently Taylor's lashes are not as long and voluminous as CoverGirl would have you believe. According to the NAD, the ad made "superior performance claims," stating the mascara offered "2X more volume" and was "20 percent lighter." Unfortunately, both claims were unsupported.
There was, however, a disclaimer printed (in very small letters) at the bottom of the ad stating that lashes had been "enhanced in post production." The NAD responded, "You can't use a photograph to demonstrate how a cosmetic will look after it is applied to a woman's face and then – in the mice type – have a disclosure that 'okay, not really.' "
