Now that it's fall, it seems the celebs have let loose and are once again experimenting with makeup.
Diane Kruger is a prime example: She was spotted in shimmery aqua eyeshadow at the
Elle Tribute to Women event in Hollywood. Playing with colors can be fun, and it's definitely a hot fashion trend for this season.
If you've been thinking about ditching your traditional smoky eye for something new and exciting, here are a few tips before you begin:
- Don't be scared. Going from black to orange may feel a bit terrifying, but hey, it's just eye shadow and it washes off easily.
- Keep it under control. Bright shadows get a bad rap when they get smeared all the way to the eyebrows. Limit your color to a slim streak and you'll be on the winning side of this game.
- Try a liner. If you're still antsy about going all the way, a liner offers a burst of color without having to commit to your entire lid.
- Complement your eyes. Pick a shade similar to your eye color, or go for a contrasting one—aqua looks great on blue peepers, but purple also does wonders for browns.
- Have fun! You can amp up a neutral outfit with a splash of color on your lids, but you can also do like Diane and play up a fun, bright outfit.
