(Source: Skincare by Alana, Nastia11/Thinkstock; Chella Heated Eyelash Curler, $20)When our eyelashes need a lift, we've always blasted our trusty
Shu Uemura with a hairdryer and then curled away. This seemed like a pretty cool beauty hack—until the crop of new heated eyelash curlers made our trick seem positively old-fashioned. These high-tech contraptions, you see, have a built-in heat source that aims to amp up lash volume and create long-lasting curl.

Heated Lash Curler ($24) and Chella's
Heated Lash Curler ($20), which uses a triple-A battery to heat up a grooved styling brush. (To use, you simply brush your lashes in an upward motion until the desired curl is achieved.) There's also the clamp model, like these babies from
Panasonic ($30) and
Mally ($25), which feature a heated strip and works like a newfangled version of your traditional curler.
Both styles promise va-va-voom lashes—and yes, feature safety measures so you won't scorch your delicate lashes.
What do you think? Would you give one a whirl?
