Scrub a Dub: Five Lip Scrubs to Try for Winter

Scrub a Dub: Five Lip Scrubs to Try For Winter(Source: Thinkstock, Sephora, Tarte, Fresh; Art by Tanya Leigh Washington)A tell-tale sign that winter has arrived is without a doubt the appearance of chapped lips. With every trip out the door, our poor lips face the harsh, dehydrating winter wind. Alas there are ways to combat such tragedies. You can slather on balms, salves and glosses, always stay hydrated, never lick your lips—and certainly never bite or pull the chapped skin!

But if you do find yourself falling victim to chapped lips, one of our favorite beauty remedies is a lip-specific scrub. If you're especially ambitious, you can whip up your own, or you can treat yourself to a little scrub-a-dub from any number of pre-made options. Check out our five picks—for every taste preference.

For the vanilla vixen: Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant, $16, at tarte.com

Although this scrub isn't technically a vanilla mixture, the sweet concoctions reminded us of a vanilla dream.

For the cherry cutie: Bite Beauty Whipped Cherry Lip Scrub, $18, at sephora.com

For the brown sugar sweetie: Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, $23, at nordstrom.com
Scrub a Dub: Five Lip Scrubs to Try For Winter(Source: Fresh)When you think of a scrub, you most likely think of big chunks of exfoliants you can see and feel. That's exactly what you get with this brown sugar–scented polish from Fresh. When applied, this mixture goes on thick and rich but is soon buffed away to reveal non-greasy, smooth skin.

For the sweets siren: Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub, $18, at blissworld.com

For the mint maven: Laura Geller Lip Strip Smoothing Sugar Scrub, $16, at ulta.com
