If you've always wanted to attend Kanye West's Sunday service, you're in luck — because now you actually can. Announced via a video on Kim Kardashian's Twitter, Kanye revealed to passengers of a 737 the news that he will be taking his Sunday service to Coachella. Praise be.
Since the beginning of the year, Kanye has been hosting a weekly Sunday service at the Kardashian-West family's Calabasas home. While it clearly has religious undertones, from clips we've seen, in addition to a recent interview with Kim Kardashian, the service is more about music than anything else. According to Kim, "...it’s honestly more like a healing experience for my husband. It’s just music; there’s no sermon."
The service, while open to those of all religions, is definitely not open to the public. In fact, it's extremely exclusive with people attending strictly on an invite-only basis.
Well, it looks like you finally scored your invite — that is, as long as you have a ticket to the second weekend of Coachella.
Though the lineup for both weekends of Coachella are identical, Kanye's Sunday service will only take place during weekend two — at 9 a.m. on Easter Sunday (April 21). If you haven't bought a Coachella ticket yet, but desperately want to jump on this opportunity to bless up with Kanye, the music festival is releasing a limited amount of weekend two passes on Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m. PST.
Kanye, who was teased as a headliner of the 2019 festival, dropped out last minute due to conflicts with his desired stage production. Apparently, he wanted "to construct a custom-built dome in the middle of the festival grounds, which would be designed by John McGuire." The people of Coachella couldn't make that happen, so Kanye bounced from the lineup. Well, Ye fans can now rejoice, because Kanye will most certainly be at Coachella in the most Kanye way possible.
